I think I think 24 is the best show of all time.

The lightbox I draw on requires two foot-long fluorescent bulbs. I used to panic when I was in college, up late drawing through the night, that the bulbs would burn out and I wouldn't be able to buy new ones until the stores opened up in the morning, and me being one to wait until the last minute to finish my drawings, it would've been too late by morning and the drawings wouldn't get done. One night in particular I remember being convinced that the bulbs were gonna go. "I'm fucked," I thought. "Fucked, fucked, fucked. I'm gonna have to, like, make my computer desktop bright white and then angle the screen and draw on it, but that probably won't be bright enough, or I could wait until the sun starts to rise and maybe use my window, but that won't give me enough time and'll for sure make my arms tired. Shit."

"Shit, shit, shit."

That was five years ago. And no, the bulbs haven't burned out yet.

The kid who isn't a superhero and doesn't have superpowers, whose very identity depends upon his lack of superanything, he just got thrown into outer space. He exited the atmosphere, banged into a spaceship and then fell back to Earth, where he landed on an umbrella and is fine. All in all, he traveled half a million miles in about 8 seconds. Which is slightly super, innit? I would argue that kids should be shown the old Muppet Shows instead of what's being made today, but if I won that argument, I'd be out of a job.

Faire or Unfair?
By Charles Lavoie

I started a ballad about the trip, but I lost my notes and I don't remember much. Just the ending:

And the God of Green and Spaced-out Witch Lady's
Offer to frolic I politely declined,
And the maiden in the food ticket shack- NEEDS OUR HELP!
HER CHAIR JUST BROKE AND THE DOOR'S LOCKED FROM THE INSIDE!
